That Brown Girl is an idea I’ve had for a while, a space to share my thoughts on politics, race, travel, fashion, movies, books, love…basically anything that strikes my fancy.

My opinions and experiences are obviously shaped by my perspective as the first-generation daughter of Indian immigrants.  So some of the blog features, like Famous Brown Girls, are a way to share my culture with others.  My writing published at other sites is featured under the Articles.

Happy reading!

    Dear Sneha,

We are big fans of Brown Girl Magazine and enjoy all the articles written. We would like to personally invite Brown Girl Magazine to an upcoming art show on Friday, May 11 from 7 to 10 pm. This art exhibit will showcase works from local Indian female artists from Houston, Texas. The artist names are as follows:

    Deepika Sanduja
    Sneha Shah

This event would be absolutely beneficial for both Nature’s Market and Brown Girl Magazine to show our support for these two amazingly talented Indian women. The art show will present an opportunity for both organizations to rally around and foster the arts especially in the Indian community.

Nature’s Market, is a farmers market offering the best in local food and wine including fresh juices, vegetarian/vegan food, wine, flavored olive oil/vinegar and more. We are dedicated to providing our customers with only the healthiest choices available from local farms.
